How to: Hair Extensions

Last week I wrote about my hair routine and I promised I would talk more about hair and post more tutorials just as you requested.

One of the things I wanted to talk about was hair extensions. As some of you may know if you’ve been following me for a long time I toyed with the idea of wearing hair extensions as you can see from these posts here, here and here.

I don’t wear my extensions at the moment because my hair has gotten to a length I actually like and I no longer need them but when my hair was short the extensions gave me instant gratification and extended my hair which I loved.

BestHairBuys.com contacted me and after I had a look at their website I came to the conclusion that they offer inexpensive real hair extensions.  What I liked most about this website and what convinced me to talk about them is the fact that along with different hair lengths they also offer different hair textures. This is something I’ve never seen before and when I bought my extensions they weren’t offering either option.

Another thing that’s very important and that you must always look for and strive to get is extensions which are made of Remy Hair. Remy hair means that the quality of the hair is preserved by keeping the cuticles in the same direction just like our natural hair making it easier to style and less likely to tangle.

I opted for clip in extensions as those best suited me but you can also choose human hair weaves if that’s something you’re interested in. The procedure is rather simple as the hair is weaved through your natural hair. I mentioned earlier that I liked the fact that they offer different textures of hair because that way it’ll blend with your natural hair much better. If you don’t feel like styling your hair one day it’ll still look like your own hair making it more natural.

I really liked my hair extensions when I was wearing them and I would recommend them to anyone who wants longer hair. I must say it took some time for me to get used to them but once I did they were totally a part of me. Something else you have to be aware of is how thick or thin your hair is. If your hair is  thin you can manage with less clip ins but if you’ve got really thick hair like me you need more clip ins just so that your extensions can blend in with your hair. As long as you keep these things in mind you should have a pleasant experience with hair extensions.

Would you ever wear hair extensions?

  14. The process can take a long time, as the person's own hair must be braided first, and some people find the entire procedure to be very painful. This method may also be quite expensive, although it usually lasts for a long time.
    Thanks.
