I saw a post featured in the Romanian version of Cosmo that caught my attention and I thought I would share it on here. It was about make-up colours for spring and summer which I thought was quite ingenious. Colour blocking is really in this season and I feel like the make-up should match the fun and inspiring colouring the clothes display and this fits right in!
Shocking Pink was the colour describing the shades that are in for lipsticks this spring.
I think this is genius, since it’s not as intense and hard to apply as a red lipstick but still fun and wearable which will spice things up for the summer time. It can be worn during the day with a toned down neutral eye and as well as at night when things can get more interesting. Last but not least the amazing thing about this is that bright and fun lipsticks can also be used as cheek tints for a look of flushed healthy skin.
Electrifying Green is the next colour they talked about for being ideal as an eye shadow.
We’ve all seen Stephaney from The Hills rock those amazing pops of colours under her beautiful blue eyes which just made them pop. Her eyes being amazingly beautiful it wasn’t hard to achieve that look but these colours are even better for people with more toned down eye colours since the emphasis will be drawn to them. Variations of these shades can be worn underneath the eye for a toned down look during the day as well as all over the lid if one is ambitious and daring or even in the crease for those who are just starting to experiment with “pops of colour”.
Magnetic Yellow as well as shades of orange have dominated the runway for virtually every designer this season but it can be a bit tricky to apply.
Yellow is a colour which can brighten up any look but it can make one look wiped out if it loses its shine and gets confused for being the same as the skin colour. This look should be FUN and careless and looks amazing for the daytime. Its intensity should be emphasized by using eyeliner. The colour is up to the person wearing this, black, browns or even grays would work.
Daring Violet is a very interesting colour and if used properly it can create interesting effects.
This week, my favourite youtube guru, Lisa Eldridge at www.lisaeldridge.com introduced her viewers to vintage make-up and she did a wonderful series of videos where she talked about what women did in terms of make-up and clothing from the Victorian Era all the way to the 1970s. She also talked about Biba Fever which had women use shades of bruised fruit such as mauves, browns and violets. She is truly an inspiration to everyone who watches her I have fallen in love with her work from the first video I’ve seen. She is extremely talented I would definitely check out her website we all have so much to learn from her.
Light shades of purple can be worn during the day for a light and playful look and darker shades can be worn at night for mysterious and seductive looks. Colours in the family of dark pinks and violets can be tricky next to tired eyes and dark circles so make sure proper concealing is done before applying these.
The website I got inspired from is:

Check it out if you understand Romanian, it is a great place to get inspiration and it has lots of tricks for every little problem.
Have a great week!!
